The “I Hate Peas” Pea Soup

There are just some foods that some people don’t like – peas are one of those foods for me!

Why is it that some foods we hate don’t like and others we love? – - – I have no clue!

Growing up when I didn’t like a food that was it, end of story.

Pear Ginger Cake (with Whipped Cream Frosting)

Birthdays are a reason for Celebrating.

My Grandmother recently celebrated a birthday and Rich and I decided to surprise her. She knew that my Wonderful Parents would be joining her but that My Love and I had “too many other things going on” to join her. There is a truth to that but little did she know that part of our busy weekend was us driving 2 hours to surprise her at dinner. My parents showed up earlier in the day, with this cake in tow, and then a few hours later when they went out to dinner… low & behold we were waiting there for them!

Celebrating her birthday was a great day and the shock on my Grandmother’s face was priceless!

Homemade Baileys

* only read on if over the age of 21 *

One of the greatest joys in my life is making things that others enjoy eating. I think it is especially fun to make my own foods that others would normally just buy (like ranch or hummus or iced coffee). Over the past few months, I have seen more and more buzz about DIY Baileys. I first tried to make this around the holidays but the flavor just wasn’t right so I figured St. Patrick’s Day would be the perfect time to make this for you all.

Cream of Broccoli Soup

St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner so I have a delicious green soup for you today!

This is a nice basic Cream of Broccoli Soup – it has all the flavors you would want and gets its thickness from potatoes that are cooked in the soup and then blended right in. If you are really watching your calories feel free to reduce the cheese or use reduced fat cheese.
