Oatmeal: BETTER
Oatmeal… some people love it, others hate it, and others eat it because it is good for them or convenient or something along those lines! I fall into the Oatmeal Lovers Category: not only is is warm and filling and very customizable, but it is also affordable and easy to make any day! Rich is also a big fan of oatmeal, it is an easy breakfast for when he is running late and needs to eat once he gets to work – 3 minutes start to finish & you have a hot breakfast, seriously… you can’t beat that!
Since we are fans of Oatmeal in our house, you can only imagine our delight when we had 5 boxes of Better Oats Oatmeal arrive on our doorstep! What makes this Oatmeal “Better”, you might ask? Well…

We had these 5 boxes of Better Oats Oatmeal and also a box of Shop Rite’s Own Oatmeal and figured the best way to see how much better they really were was to do a side-by-side taste test.
Rich’s opinions are as follows…
[The Shop Rite Oatmeal] tastes a little bit like over spiced cardboard. I can tell that there is a lot of spice to it, I think, but what I really taste is like too much cinnamon. It has kinda a stale freezer taste to it. The texture is very gelatinous.
[The Better Oats Oatmeal] almost tastes like there is caramel apple in here. The texture of this one is much better. It is still soft but it has almost a crunch to it because of the oats. I don’t know if there are oat husks in here or what, but the texture is there. It has a full flavor profile, like when something is homemade. It has that neat measuring thing too on the back of the package so you can’t screw it up either!
… so in review – yes, the Better Oats Oatmeal really is better than the store brand & if you appreciate quick/easy/affordable/yummy/healthy breakfast than you should enjoy some Better Oats today!
