Chocolate Covered Strawberry Valentines
Valentines Day is just around the corner and these impressive Chocolate Covered Strawberries are delicious, quick and easy. So although Valentines Day is almost here, it is never too late to impress your Valentine by making these Chocolate Covered Strawberries now!
While we are discussing making your Valentine a happy person, why not start their day with some Chocolate Covered Strawberry DONUTS!? AND… why should you only make your Special Someone feel Happy and Special on Valentine’s Day – why not make them feel that way any random night of the year? Seriously; making Chocolate Covered Strawberries is one of the easiest yet most impressive desserts that you can make for someone. Simply drizzle their favorite color melted chocolate or use fun sprinkles in their favorite color and you have instantly made a simple yet impressive dessert for all year! (you are welcome)
- 1 dozen strawberries, rinsed & dried
- 1 cup good quality melting chocolate
- 1 Tablespoon Shortening
- Place the Chocolate & Shortening in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave at half-power for 30 seconds at a time, mixing every 30 seconds. Once your chocolate is smooth and melted, carefully dip each strawberry into the chocolate, tapping & shaking gently after each strawberry so there is an even coating.
- Place dipped berries on a piece of wax paper. If you are adding sprinkles, do so after dipping each strawberry (contrast color of chocolate can go on using a zip-lock bag with the corner cut off of it later). Once berries are all dipped & sprinkled, place in a cool place (like the fridge) to set & then enjoy!
THOUGHT: while you are at it and making these strawberries for someone you love, why not present them all beautiful like Madison did & wrap up some edible strawberry roses (they will last about as long as the flower kind – but are even more thoughtful & delicious)
