30 – The Happiness Year
Disney Tokyo, Reading Rainbow, The Disney Channel, Microsoft Word, Chicken McNuggets, Hooters, Plinko, the Sony Camcorder, & ME all have something in common… we all got our start in this world 30 years ago! Also of note; Weird Al’s first album got published AND the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) switched its networking technology to TCP/IP which basically was when the “modern Internet” came into being, and A Christmas Story was released.
Yup – 1983 was a big year 🙂
For my 30th Birthday I wanted to Go to Walt Disney World – because really, who isn’t a kid at heart!? The stars aligned and I was able to spend one wonderful day with my parents & my future husband in the Happiest Place on Earth. We celebrated our “Propose-iversary” (exactly 1 year from when Rich proposed) and that date also happened to be one week earlier than my 30th Birthday!
30 always sounded like such a big number, but I don’t feel “old” (heck, my *future* sister-in-law got me a Minnie Mouse card with a crown made for 3 year olds)! So as I turn 30, I no longer am feeling old – and truly think that 30 will be a “year of happiness” with the highlight of my 30th year of course being the wedding to my very own Prince Charming!
Happy Birthday to Me!
And I leave you with this, Today’s Question of the Day… What is “old” to you?
