Brilliant Baking Brains
I know, its summer and you don’t really want to turn on the oven or do too much baking – but I have some amazing “Baking Hacks” for you today! Its ok, many of these won’t even involve turning on the oven.
IF you have not already heard, my Chocolate Cups made from Balloon Molds were featured on People.com in an article they wrote about Baking Hacks & Shortcuts. There are some AWESOME ideas over there, many of which will be going right into my Bag-O-Tricks!
Let me just give you a sampling of these great ideas….
Getting rid of Eggshells that *oops* you dropped into your mixing bowl (since you didn’t feel like dirtying another bowl to crack your eggs separately – you know we have all been there)!
Or how about when you NEED to make banana bread NOW (or just need ripe bananas but all you have are green ones)? No need to worry – ripen your bananas in a snap now!
If you are anything like me – you have some major issues with getting your cake decorations perfect (which is why I don’t even try sometimes)! In another “why didn’t I think of that” moment, just take out your favorite cookie cutter and use that as a template to get your sprinkles perfect every time!
Have you ever tried to get a rise out of your dough only to not have a “warm/draft-free” place to put it!? How about running to the bathroom to get that heating pad to warm your bread dough and get the most beautiful rise out of it!?
And of course – a solution of how to eat things! I LOVE To eat my cupcakes as a sandwich to keep everything nice and neat and clean and also get enough frosting in every bite. Cupcake Sandwiches are just the most logical way to eat cupcakes!
So there you have it, BAKING HACKS & SOLUTIONS to make your life easier!
… You are Welcome
Two Years Ago – Chocolate Ricotta Mousse, a healthier option to fill these Chocolate Balloon Cups with (how perfect is that!?)
Three Years Ago – Sesame Crab Cakes with Sesame Snap Peas, SO yummy and a deliciously different way to enjoy crab cakes (which are awesome no matter what way they are prepared).
And I leave you with this, Today’s Question of the Day… What is YOUR Favorite Kitchen Hack to make your life easier?
